Step 5: WaterCare will assign a case number for your inquiry/concern, and send you a
confirmation that the message has been received.
Step 6: Watercare will provide individualised support and advice for the case, in accordance
with country systems.
The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 6 calls for access to clean water and sanitation for all by 2030. One of WaterCare's commitments towards this goal, representing Maldivian CSOs, is the establishment of our Help Desk. Our Help Desk is a way for citizens to raise concerns and inquiries regarding their access to clean water and sanitation in the Maldives. Individuals, island and atoll councils, and organisations across the country can utilise this Help Desk as a way to seek professional advice on issues related to water and sanitation.
Through our Help Desk, we hope to enhance community participation in the management, protection and conservation of freshwater, through enhanced understanding of its responsible use and protection. It can facilitate the improved provision of services to the dispersed, small islands of the Maldives, narrowing the gap of service provision between rural and urban communities.
